BE-MA-12 is an audiovisual installation projected upon one of the glass facades of the Fehrbelliner train station creating a unique sonic membrane, which generates a new sound atmosphere. The acoustic environment and surroundings of the installation itself are formed through the ventilation system. The background noise is composed of four dominant frequencies.
These main frequencies are then separated, transformed and modulated. Throughout the course of the installation the frequencies continue to transform and change. The sound installation takes what would usually be the irritating noise of a ventilation system and reconfigures it to create a unique sonic identity blending new tonal harmonies.
