After presenting its previous series in spectacular buildings such as the Berlin cathedral, Kestnergesellschaft in Hanover and the former water tank in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, Volum IV is dedicated to an architecture which actually does not exist. The temporary facade made of foils which is reminiscent of the former Bauakademie by Schinkel at the same site makes the location a rather unreal one.
The foils wrap a gigantic scaffold which itself hides a jungle of plants, trees and the Schinkelhall. This wasteland is the base for the question of how the absence of architecture might sound. The sounds of nature, the sounds of the installation, light and fog grow to an overall atmosphere that dissolves the borders of the architecture.

The series Volum is a collaboration with HTWG Konstanz, Department of Architecture and Design, Prof. Katrin Günther.
